AAEON Releases a New Fanless Embedded Controller with Intel® Core™ i5/i7 Processors: AEC-6635

(Taipei, Taiwan) November 7, 2011— AAEON, a leading Industrial PC manufacturer, unveils a new Fanless Embedded Controller with Intel® Core™ i5/i7 processors.
The AEC-6635 features the Intel® Core™ i5 (2.4 GHz)/i7 (2.66 GHz) with the Intel® QM57 chipset. The unit has an onboard 204-pin DDR3 SODIMM (maximum of 4 GB) memory and offers one DVI-D port, one VGA port and one Display Port. It also has two Gigabit Ethernet ports for easy internet access and utilizes a CompactFlash™ slot and a 2.5" SATA Hard Disk Drive Bay for storage. End users can use an extensive range of I/O ports, including six USB2.0 ports, three RS-232 ports, one RS-232/422/485 port, one Power Switch, one Power reset button, one SYS LED, one HDD LED, and one power inlet button. There is a Mini card for expansion purposes as well.
"The AEC-6635 supports a wide variety of operating systems, including WinCE 6.0, Windows® XP Embedded, Windows® XP, Windows® 7 and Linux Fedora 2.4." says Godfrey Chang, Product Manager of AAEON's Panel Appliance & Automation Division. "Alongside its fast Ethernet, the AEC-6635 also provides optional wireless connections with a WiFi kit. Its wide operating temperature from -20 C~ 50 C and anti-shock and anti-vibration properties enables the AEC-6635 to thrive in diverse environments." Chang confirms.
The AEC-6635 is energy efficient and enables smart computing with the Intel® Turbo Boost Technology. The AEC-6635's Core™ processor also possesses the unique power-saving technique HUGI to preserve its battery life while allowing the processor to finish up tasks.
