Taipei Taiwan (March 5, 2009)--AAEON, a premier Industrial PC manufacturer, is pleased to announce a brand new XTX CPU Module— the XTX-U15B adopts the cutting-edge Intel® Atom™ processor Z5xx series (Z530P/ Z520PT/ Z510P/ Z510PT) to meet today’s embedded market needs including a wide temperature range, low power consumption, and a high degree of integrated features.
The XTX-U15B utilizes the Intel Atom processors Z530P, Z520PT, Z510P and Z510PT, the Intel® System Controller Hub US15WP and US15WPT onboard, and features DDRII 400/533 SODIMM up to 2GB. AAEON developed these new products based on Intel’s newest processor and system controller hub options, providing our customers with state-of-the-art technologies and solutions.
“The XTX-U15B delivers on the guarantee of a long lifecycle since it is based on very popular components from Intel’s long life embedded support list. This newly developed Intel® CPU has a larger ball pitch than previous Intel Atom processors, so that no HDI technology is required. The simplified manufacturing process of the XTX-U15B allows for a more competitive price when compared to similar products in the market,” said Wayne Chen, Vice President of AAEON’s Embedded Computing Division. “In addition to the benefits mentioned above, the XTX-U15B is a fanless, two chip design offering high performance at low power consumption (≦7W). It is ideally suited for the mobile market.” Wayne added.
“Intel extended the low-power Intel® Atom™ processor Z5xx series-based platform to offer an industrial temperature range from minus 40 to 85 C, and a larger footprint version with 1.0 mm ball pitch,” said Jonathan Luse, director of marketing, Low Power Embedded Products Division, Intel®. “This allows computing platform service providers, such as AAEON, to introduce a low-power design that can be deployed in a variety of applications used in different climate zones or in unconstrained thermal environments.”
The XTX-U15B has flexible expansion interfaces, such as two PCI-Express lanes, 32-bit PCI, LPC bus, SMBus and I2C, enabling reduced cost in expansion devices. Storage requirements are met with optional onboard PATA Solid State storage. Multiple displays are supported by a 24-bit LVDS interface and an SDVO port interface that can be paired with a variety of devices to achieve any combination of display technology. Two serial ports, eight USB ports and a Gigabit Ethernet provide connectivity to meet the demands of today’s highly integrated systems. This model targets a wide application range, such as handheld applications, including rugged mobile devices for medical/healthcare, government/military applications, infotainment systems, POS, etc. For meeting diverse market segments, the XTX-U15B is the right choice for your vital applications.
