COM-U15
COM-U15 is a revolutionary design of x86 architecture CPU module. It adopts Intel Atom processors, Z530/Z510 and System Controller Hub US15W. It complies with COM Express standard pin-out Type II except without PCI interface and CRT interface. However, COM-U15's SDIO interface provides extra storage interface signals on COM Express interface connector for application in carrier board design.
COM-U15 is equipped not only with one DDRII SO-DIMM up to 2GB and one Gigabit Ethernet, but also is embedded with one 4GB SSD (Optional) and one SATA interface. AAEON's COM Express modules support wide DC input range from +8.5V to +19V. Because of its very low power consumption and supreme performance per watt ratio and hardware media accelerator, COM-U15 will be one of the most suitable COM Express module for battery powering solution in mobile multimedia application.
AAEON has developed on Proof of Concept samples, CTP-700 and CTP-1200, which are battery solution inside one plastic chassis and equipped with either 7" or 12" LCD panel. With the sample, it may run more than four hours of operation without external power source. However, due to its special architecture of the chipset platform, carrier board design must be cared exceptionally.
